A SEARCH and rescue operation is underway after a Spanish pilot crashed in Sweden.
Emergency services have reached the scene in Swedish Lapland, where the Spanish pilot and his French co-pilot crashed into the mountain range.
The plane had been on course for Norway to deliver mail.
The plane sent out distress signals in Swedish airspace before it came down.
No contact has been made with the pilots since the crash and it is unknown if they are alive or not.
