tivoli worldSEVERAL thrill-seekers have been injured at a Costa del Sol theme park.

According to reports, five were treated for whiplash while several others suffered minor cuts and bruises.

The incident occured on the Torre de Caida Libre ride at Tivoli World in Benalmadena.

It is believed a ride descended much faster than usual owing to a problem with the upper anchorage.

The emergency brakes had to be applied as the ride began plummeting towards the ground.

The park says there were no serious injuries, adding that the ride will remain closed until further notice.
