Christmas lights switch on times on Costa del Sol and Malaga

COSTA del Sol resorts are set to sparkle as Christmas goes up in lights.

Residents of Marbella, San Pedro and Estepona will come together to celebrate the occasions next week, while Malaga’s Calle Larios remains the region’s must-see light show.

The first of the switch-ons marking the countdown to the festive season will illuminate San Pedro on November 24 at 6.30pm.

Marbella will trip the light fantastic just one hour later at 7.30pm on Avenida Nabeul, where the mayor will push the button.

But the festivities will begin in the town earlier in the evening, starting with a children’s party at 5pm in the Parque de la Alameda, followed by a parade via the main streets to the Avda Nabeul switch-on.

Several nativity scenes will also take centre stage during the festive period, with the quirkiest being made out of Playmobil.

It will go on show in la Plaza de la Iglesia de Marbella, along with a Santa’s grotto and another nativity scene in La Alameda.

Malaga’s light switch on will also be on November 24 at 6.45pm on Calle Larios.

Estepona lights up on November 25 at 7pm on the European Union roundabout, between Avda Juan Carlos I y Avda España.
