Iznate mayor encourages baby boom with cash gifts

MONETARY gifts are being used to increase a small town’s birth rate.

Iznate’s mayor Gregorio Campos is now giving out €1,000 to new families to encourage more to have babies.

They will receive the money in two payouts of €500, one when the baby is born and the other when they can prove they have spent the money on essential items such as baby food and clothes.
