Sewer upgrade to reduce waste in Mediterranean

Emaya water treatment

A MASSIVE €26 million is being spent to remedy flooding across Mallorca caused by heavy rainfall.

Emaya is in charge of upgrading sewers, as well as building a new reservoir in Playa de Palma’s Coll den Rabassa.

The goal is to reduce the amount of waste that gets flushed into the sea when it rains and the pipes are overused.

The new reservoir will reduce waste flowing into the sea by 80%.
