AEMET has issued yellow and orange weather warnings across Andalucia today as the strong winds and rain return.

Orange warnings have been issued for Cadiz and Almeria, with risks of very strong winds, high waves and rain.

The whole coastline, from Huelva to Alicante, including the Costa del Sol, is on yellow alert for rain and wind.

The Gibraltar government also issued a warning this morning that extremely high winds were expected today and for the public to take extra precaution.

“Winds could reach 55kt (101km/hr),” the statement read.

The yellow warnings remain in place tomorrow (Wednesday), but disappear from much of the coast – bar Almeria and Cadiz – on Thursday.
