SUNDAY SHOPPING: You can now shop seven days a week across Spain’s Costa del Sol

Retail Tourists shopping

THE summer shopping season has finally arrived.

Since yesterday, shops along the Costa del Sol and Andalucia began their peak season hours.

It means most shops will be open seven days a week until September 15.

This applies mostly to areas of great tourist influx (ZGAT), and benefits Torremolinos, Nerja, Mijas, Marbella, Manilva, Fuengirola, Estepona and Benalmadena.

Popular centres like La Cañada (Marbella), Miramar (Fuengirola) and El Corte Inglés (Marbella and Mijas) will be open every day this summer.

Consumers will spend most of their cash on clothing and footwear, accounting for 87.1% of sales, experts predict.

Cosmetics will account for around 60.4% of sales.
