A MAN covered in blood has been arrested in a hotel room after allegedly stabbing his dad to death and fleeing by bus.

The 24-year-old is accused of murdering his father, 70, and was cuffed by police, who burst into his hotel room.

Officers ID’d the victim as Julio Nieto Centeno, who was found dead at the property in Avenida de las Caballerizas yesterday afternoon.

Police traced the son, who has a mental disorder, to a hotel in Malaga City, after he was believed to have escaped on an EMT bus.

SCENE: The suspect is alleged to have fled Avenida de las Caballerizas before riding bus to hotel in Malaga City

Investigators believe the suspect got off the bus at a stop on the Paseo del Parque near Malaga Port, before checking into the hotel.

Uniformed and plainclothes officers arrested the man, before transferring him to a health centre, where he remained under police supervision.

Forensics officers and members of the ‘Homicide Group’ are now investigating at the property in Malaga’s El Limonar area.

Retired mining engineer, Julio Nieto Centeno, is well-known locally and is described as a ‘kind man’ by neighbours.
