French couple, 80 and 66, injured after paddling pool crashes through terrace floor into garage below on Spain’s Costa Blanca

A FRENCH couple were injured in Mutxamel, Alicante, when their paddling pool broke through the terrace where they had set it up.

The couple were bathing in the pool just before 8pm on Monday, when they crashed through to the garage below.

The pair were trapped in the rubble until a fire crew rescued them.

An ambulance assisted the woman, 66, for polytrauma and the man, 80, for multiple injuries.

They were taken to separate hospitals in Alicante for further treatment.
