Another swimmer dies off beach on Spain’s Costa del Sol

ANOTHER man has drowned off a beach on the Costa del Sol. 

The 63-year-old died on the shores of Carvajal beach in Fuengirola at around 11am.

Fellow sunbathers had called the 112 emergency number after seeing a man struggling in the water near the breakwater.

Man made structures can often cause rip tides which can drag swimmers out to sea and are impossible to swim against (READ MORE: How to survive being caught in a rip tide). 

He was pulled out by rescue services but they were unable to revive him and he died on site.

His nationality has not been revealed.

Policia Nacional have taken over the routine investigation.

He is the third man to have drowned along the coast this month.
