Playa Del Cristo Estepona

EMERGENCY services are hunting for a swimmer who was last seen gesturing for help from the sea in the resort town of Estepona.

The man was taking a dip off Playa del Cristo on Saturday morning when he got into trouble.

A concerned onlooker informed the emergency services, who sent a boat and a Maritime Rescue helicopter to search for the man.

The search was resumed on Sunday, with the help of GEAS, the Guardia Civil’s aquatics division.

At present, the hunt is still ongoing.
