City in Spain’s Andalucia bans weddings outside of office hours

AN Andalucian city is banning weddings outside of office hours.

The city of Ronda will no longer allow people to marry at weekends or in the evening in order to improve security.

AUTHORISED: Ronda City Hall, one of the few places weddings are allowed

It comes after an individual tried to change a wedding certificate in order to get their hands on more paid vacation.

City hall officials have also forbidden weddings from taking place anywhere but the City Hall, Palacio de Mondragon and Covent of Santo Domingo.

The only exception to the rule is during June, July and August when couples will be allowed to celebrate weddings in authorised buildings on the first Saturday of each month.

Local police will guard the marriage documents at these ceremonies.
