MUCH of Malaga is set to have a miserable start to the weekend with rain forecast for the majority of Friday.

In fact weather agency AEMET has issued a yellow warning, with the downpour expected to last from midnight until 6pm on that day.

The most affected areas will be Ronda, Guadalhorce and the Costa del Sol.

Up to 20 litres or rain could fall in just one hour, AEMET predicts.

There is also a yellow warning in place for strong winds in Antequera, Ronda, the Costa del Sol and Guadalhorce on Friday, from 6am until midnight.

Winds are expected to reach 80km/hr in these areas.

Cadiz, meanwhile, will be on orange alert during the same period, with winds expected to reach 100km/hr.

Rain has already arrived in Andalucia today, and will remain for much of the week in Malaga, Sevilla, Cadiz, Cordoba, Jaen and Almeria.
