HATE CRIME: ‘Gay man’ hospitalised after group of young men use fake dating profile to lure him to secluded road before violently robbing him in Spain’s Andalucia

A MAN has been hospitalised after being lured to a secluded road and violently robbed by a group of young men on the outskirts of Sevilla.

The victim had arranged to meet a young man, aged 20, after chatting on an ‘online platform for casual sex’, according to police.

The victim, who is only described as being middle-aged, agreed to pick up the young man in Aznalcazar.

Once in the car, the young man said they could drive to his home and that he would direct the way.

At one point in the journey, he told the victim to turn down a rural road, telling him his house was at the end of it.

Suddenly another car appeared and blocked their way before two men jumped out.

The two men and the young man in the car began to attack and rob the victim while hurling verbal homophobic abuse.

He had to be taken to San Juan de Dios hospital in Bormujos as a result of the injuries suffered.

Luckily he was able to give a police sketch artist a large amount of detail about his attackers’ appearances.

Guardia Civil were able to track them down and they have been arrested and imprisoned ahead of trial.

They are charged with a hate crime and robbery with violence and intimidation.
