Boy George protégé from Marbella releases new folk rock album recorded in Southern Spain

Sami James 1

FOLK musician Sami James splits his time between Marbella and London and describes his signature sound as a blend of Noel Gallagher and Ben Howard.

After studying at BIMM University in Brighton, he went on to tour and work with many notable musicians and producers including Boy George, Martin Glover, Mikki Nilsen and Bryan Wells.

Now he has released his new album Found and Lost, a compilation of songs written and recorded in Spain and the UK.

“The launch of the album is a mix of old and new songs, some recorded in the UK and others here in Spain – hence the title Found and Lost! Many of the songs on the album I have also written and recorded in Spanish,”  Sami told the Olive Press

The songs detail Sami’s life experiences and have hope, love and escapism and their heart. His songs range from rocky tunes to more haunting melodic anthems.

Recorded in an abandoned mansion in Marbella, Sami recently released the music video for his lockdown single Life Has Just Begun

Next on the cards for the performer is the formation of an innovative flamenco indie fusion band.

The Rabbit Holes band is a collaboration between Sami and other Spanish artists who will start performing and release tracks in the early Autumn so watch this space.

To check out Sami performing live, head down to the Louie Louie Rock bar in Estepona Port on Friday nights.
