FINAL DASH: Spain’s Canary Islands become destination of choice for super rich fleeing Britain’s lockdown in private jets

ACCORDING to jet brokers, the number of people chartering private planes has soared since a second lockdown was announced in Britain.

Most customers are using the jets to head to their second homes overseas in Europe, with Spain’s Canary Islands at the top of the destination list.

British residents will not be allowed to travel abroad after today (November 5), according to new restrictions.

So, today is the last day for wealthy Brits to catch a private plane to sunnier climes.

It comes after many major airlines have started to cancel much of their flight schedule.

Bosses of airline company IAG have announced that 70% of Vueling, Iberia and British Airways flights will be cancelled.

Meanwhile, rivals Easyjet and Ryanair will fly at 25% and 40% respectively indicating a bleak outlook for all major airlines.
