HOME sales in Spain fell by 4.6% during the first half of 2024, compared to the same period last year, based on buyers recording details with property registries.
The figures showed June falling by 6.1% with just over 50,000 homes registered.
Sales have picked up after a strange spring period as numbers dropped by 19.3% in March, countered by a 24% rise in April(taking in Easter) and then a sharp 21.5% annual fall in May.

In June, 20.4% of sales were new properties (10,209 units) and 79.6%, used (39,890 houses).
There was a marginal 0.9% increase in new home deals, and a 7.8% decrease in the second-hand home market.
The registries reported that there were only three regions where home purchases recorded year-on-year increases, namely Galicia (10%), Murcia (6%) and La Rioja (0.3%).
The two biggest falls featured two prime tourist regions: the Canary Islands (20.1%) and the Balearic Islands (17.6%).
Other falls were in Aragon (14.2%) and Catalunya(10.8%) while the Madrid region showed a more modest annual fall in June of 0.6%.
In Catalunya the decrease reached 10.8%. while in Madrid there was a year-on-year fall of 0.6% in June.
According to title acquisitions, the transfer of properties by inheritance fell by 10.3% in June, to 39,166 properties, while donations decreased by 1% year-on-year.
