Victim of deadly shooting in gated Estepona community was a 34-year-old man from Belgium

A MAN found shot dead in the gated community of El Paraiso, Estepona on Monday morning has been identified as a 34-year-old Belgian national.

No further information has been supplied about him.

The Belgian’s body was found by the Policia Nacional with one bullet wound to his back.

Officers responded to a call made around 9am reporting gunshots being fired in the vicinity of Calle Hortensia and that there might be a wounded person.

Paramedics were unable to save the victim’s life.

The shooting is said to have happened after a fight broke out during a party at a property.

The Policia Nacional investigation is trying to work out the circumstances behind the death and no arrests have so far been made.

El Paraiso is a popular urbanisation among wealthy British expats.

Properties, depending on their size and location, are currently selling on Idealista for a maximum of €15 million.
