“Alternative Financing Is a Magnet for International Clients”

IT was six years ago when Yeidy Ramírez, with over twenty years of experience in the investment fund industry, took a bold step in Spain.

She founded DEXTER , a financial management and intermediation company specializing in alternative financing with private capital. Its mission was to drive professionalization within the sector, to infuse it with a more corporate character, and to elevate its standards across the board. Today, operating from the Costa del Sol, right in Marbella’s Golden Mile, DEXTER structures financial operations with private capital across Spain. In this interview with the Olive Press, she speaks about the present and future of the firm:

Yeidy Ramírez

What were your expectations for private capital development in Spain when you founded DEXTER?

There are two sides to this. In terms of the private capital market, my sense was that its growth in Spain would be unstoppable. As for us as a company, we have certainly exceeded all our growth expectations year after year. We’re currently at our peak—and without a doubt, in the best possible place.

Is the world of investment funds becoming more accessible?

I would say it no longer feels so distant, nor is there the same insecurity or mistrust that used to exist among most business owners. Thankfully, those entrepreneurs who traditionally relied solely on savings banks or mainstream banks have opened their minds. They are more flexible now and more proactive in seeking capital. We’ve seen this trend solidify year after year.

What have been your greatest joys as the founder of DEXTER?

There have been many, fortunately. The human element is most important to me. Being able to build an elite team of professionals, each excelling in their own area, has been incredibly rewarding. But also the client relationships, the deep alignment we’ve achieved with institutional funds, the recognition we’ve earned from our partners and even the general public… Beyond material rewards, it’s these aspects that I value the most.

Is there still room for growth in the alternative financing market?

Absolutely. Here in the Costa del Sol, alternative financing is a true magnet for international clients. I also believe we’re offering increasingly better products and services every day. And let’s not forget, more and more business sectors are moving away from traditional banking. There’s a trend among traditional banks to scale back on corporate credit. Alternative financing hasn’t just arrived to stay—it still has its best days ahead here in Spain.

What are the company’s future challenges?

Domestically, continuing to grow across Spain, with larger-scale operations, higher ticket sizes, and therefore stronger clients—all while continuing to support small and medium-sized businesses. Internationally, we have two expansion lines: one in North Africa, and another in Central America and the Caribbean. One thing is clear: the Costa del Sol is likely experiencing the best business growth period in its history. And DEXTER, in its own modest way, is playing a role in that by contributing capital.
