Costa Blanca businessman buried under concrete in Alicante house was ‘killed over €5k debt’

Missing Costa Blanca businessman found buried under two metres of concrete in Alicante house- four arrests made

THE Policia Nacional have arrested four people in Alicante after finding the body of a missing businessman which was buried under two metres of concrete.

The corpse- covered in plastic sheeting- was recovered on Tuesday in a property in the village of El Bacarot in the City of Alicante.

Fingerprint analysis on Wednesday confirmed that it was Jesus Tavira, 63, who owned a car dealership and was last seen on March 18.

BODY’S BURIAL SITE

A few days later his Audi Q5 was spotted on fire in the Virgen del Remedio district of Alicante.

The Las Provincias newspaper quoted police sources as saying that he was killed over a debt between €3,000 and €5,000.

His body was in an advanced state of composition and there was evidence of multiple stab wounds.

The four detainees aged between 35 and 45 years are said to have been involved in his disappearance and subsequent killing.

One of the quartet was a car mechanic of Algerian nationality who worked for Tavira and is regarded as the ‘main’ suspect.

ARREST EXECUTED

The El Bacarot property belonged to him while further arrests are not being ruled out.

The Policia Nacional from the start ruled out Tavira’s disappearance as being voluntary.

Inquiries focused on the mechanic who claimed to have seen Tavira leaving the business on the day of his disappearance, accompanied by two other people.

Officers discovered that was not true after carrying out extensive checks on his statement- leading to him becoming the prime suspect.
