Gibraltar reviews terrorism threat level after two Jewish men stabbed in London

THE Rock’s government has met to review the territory’s terrorism threat level following an antisemitic attack in London.

Gibraltar’s senior officials have confirmed that the territory’s terrorism threat level will remain at ‘moderate’, where an attack is considered possible but not likely.

This comes after the UK government increased its national threat level from ‘substantial’, where an attack is likely, to ‘severe’, meaning an attack is highly likely in the next six months.

The decision follows the stabbing of two Jewish men, Shloime Rand, 34, and Moshe Shine, 76, in Golders Green in north London.

The Metropolitan Police declared the attack a terrorist incident, marking the latest in a series of antisemitic attacks in the UK capital.

After carefully considering intelligence reports and risk assessments from the Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP), Gibraltar concluded that the threat level would remain at moderate.

However, the RPG will continue monitoring the situation closely and increase police visibility on the Rock’s streets as a ‘precautionary measure’.
