A FIRE tore through a hotel in central Malaga overnight, forcing the evacuation of more than 100 tourists and guests as emergency crews battled the blaze in the early hours of the morning.
The blaze broke out in the early hours of the morning at the Ibis Hotel in the city centre with emergency services alerted at 1.26am.
By the time emergency crews arrived at the scene, the hotel had already begun evacuating more than 100 guests as smoke rapidly spread through the building.
No guests or staff were injured in the blaze, however firefighters are still on the scene trying to bring the fire under control.
The inferno began in the Gran Cafe bar located on the ground floor of the hotel, which has been completely destroyed by the blaze.

The blaze later spread to the upper floors of the hotel, with firefighters saying the building’s structure accelerated the spread of the flames, as materials such as wrought iron, wood and soundproofing insulation helped fuel the fire.
Four crews of firefighters remain at the scene as they continue working to bring the blaze under control, while the surrounding area remains cordoned off.
