British woman and her dog vanish near Valencia after her campervan is stolen during road trip back to UK

FEARS are mounting for the wellbeing of a British woman who vanished along with her beloved pet dog while travelling home from the Costa Blanca.

An urgent search has been launched to locate Wendy Iles, from Wiltshire, and her springer spaniel Beau after the pair failed to board a ferry back to the UK.

Concerned relatives last spoke to the 68-year-old at around 9pm on Sunday evening while she was in the Alfafar area, near Valencia.

Her daughter Louise said her mum appeared confused when they last spoke.

Wendy was last seen on Sunday evening near Valencia

Her phone has not been turned on since 9.45pm that evening.

Family members believe Wendy’s Mazda campervan suffered a tyre blowout on the motorway near Silla on Sunday before being stolen.

They also believe she was robbed of her passport.

Her campervan is a UK-plated vehicle with the registration V233 HWA.

Anyone with information relating to Wendy’s disappearance are urged to contact UK Police or Interpol.
