MARBELLA is set to get two massive television screens to broadcast Spain’s round of 32 World Cup knockout match against Austria.

The city council is setting up ‘fan zones’ this Thursday in both central Marbella and San Pedro.

These spaces will open at 8pm in Marbella’s Parque de la Represa and on Avenida Marqués del Duero in San Pedro for a 9pm kick-off.

The spaces will also have plenty of bars to get the beers in, as well as DJs, face painting, and giveaways, all put on by local authorities.

However, in a blow for the Costa del Sol’s huge foreign population, sources at the Marbella town hall have told The Olive Press that while they will likely put on more giant screens for future Spain games, they ‘probably won’t’ for non-Spain games.
