Every pathway is surrounded by abundant vegetation, exotic sounds and extraordinary wildlife, creating an immersive experience that feels a world away from the Costa del Sol.

Along the way, visitors will encounter some of the planet’s most endangered species, including western lowland gorillas, orangutans, Sumatran tigers, pygmy hippos, Malayan tapirs, lemurs, binturongs, Komodo dragons, giant otters and magnificent hornbills, all part of international conservation programmes dedicated to protecting threatened wildlife.

As BIOPARC Fuengirola celebrates its 25th anniversary, it continues to strengthen its reputation as one of Europe’s leading conservation zoos.

Over the years, it has achieved remarkable breeding successes with endangered species, including Komodo dragons, gorillas, orangutans, Malayan tapirs, giant otters and the critically endangered Edwards’s pheasant.

Spain’s only zoo open until 11pm throughout the summer

Throughout July and August, it is the only zoo in Spain that regularly stays open until 11pm, allowing visitors to explore its tropical landscapes during the coolest hours of the day.

Surrounded by lush vegetation, waterfalls and shaded pathways, the park creates a naturally cooler microclimate, making it the perfect place to escape the summer heat.

As daylight fades, many animals begin to show a completely different side of their behaviour. Crepuscular species such as Sumatran tigers, binturongs and pygmy hippos become more active, offering visitors the chance to witness moments rarely seen during the hottest part of the day.

Guests can choose to spend the entire day exploring the park, return in the evening for a completely different experience, or simply enjoy dinner surrounded by nature in one of the most extraordinary settings on the Costa del Sol.

Summer also brings an exclusive programme of seasonal activities available only during July and August.

Alongside the park’s daily presentations, visitors can enjoy new guided tours, exclusive keeper encounters, animal enrichment sessions and special activities focused on the fascinating nocturnal behaviour of birds and mammals.

The experience is complemented by the return of BIOPARC’s popular African dance performances, filling the park’s Jungle Clearing with music, colour and energy every afternoon.

This summer also introduces an exciting new addition. From 23 July onwards, every Thursday evening, BIOPARC Fuengirola will launch Mayan Nights, an independent evening experience featuring the spectacular live show Guardians of the Dawn, combining culture, nature and immersive performance to create an unforgettable summer night.
