The incident caused traffic to build up on the A-7, with long queues stretching over three kilometers as the right lane – where the accident took place – was partially closed off.
No further details about the woman’s identity or the circumstances of the accident have been released.
The accident comes just three months after another fatal pedestrian collision on the same motorway, when a man was hit by a vehicle on kilometre 1028, heading towards Fuengirola, shortly after midnight.
It was one of two fatal collisions in the area between midnight and 1am that night, leading residents to dub it the ‘dark Easter Monday’.
