IF you are young and adventurous, this summer offers the perfect chance to explore Spain for less, with travel discounts of up to 90%.

Through Spain’s ‘Verano Joven’ programme, young Spaniards and foreign residents aged 18 to 30 can enjoy discounts on train and bus journeys.

The scheme will run until September 30, giving young travellers the entire summer to explore Spain, visit friends, discover new cities or enjoy a well-earned beach break.

To get the tickets you need to fill out this registration page and identify yourself using CL@ve or by entering your personal data.

After the registration you will get a code that must be provided to the transformation company that sells the tickets.

Keep in mind that you need to register 24 hours before you buy your first ticket.

A few conditions apply. It is forbidden to book more than one round trip per day with the same railway or bus company to the same destination, unless the original journey has already been completed or has been cancelled.

Also, bear in mind that the registration code is personal and non-transferable.

The programme is being implemented for the fourth consecutive year, helping young people explore a country that this year expects 100 million tourists.

Last year, the average discount for each single bus ticket was about €24.5. For high train services, the average discount per one-way ticket reached €18 euros.

And the average discount for a 10-day Interrail Global Flexible pass was around €168.

This ticket can be the backbone of an unforgettable summer trip.

Eligible residents in Spain can benefit from a 50% discount.

Starting in Madrid, the service connects travellers with all of Spain’s major cities, including Toledo, Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada, Malaga, Valencia and Barcelona.

It can also take you beyond Spain’s borders, opening the door to even more of Europe’s destinations.
