BENIDORM police have warned summer beachgoers to be avoid being scammed over non-existent sunbeds and umbrellas.
The con involves visitors parting with money to fraudsters who give them tickets for what they say are official hires of beach furniture.
The fake receipts are more than double the cost of genuine vendors with unsuspecting clients getting nothing in return for their money.

The Benidorm Policia Local have now published images of fake and genuine receipts via social media.
An increase in scammers has forced the police to issue the warning and to increase beach surveillance in areas where official hire firms operate under licence.
They said the tactics used by the criminals are normally the same.
A fraudster approaches a potential customer mascarading as an official operator.
An €18 hire is offered which is significantly more than the normal amount of €6.
The hood-winked client then parts with the money and is given a fake receipt for their hired equipment.
The police recommends checking the receipts before parting with any money and to ask for official identification from any seller.
