A MAN who survived a stabbing inside an upmarket golf urbanisation in Estepona after police and paramedics carried out 90 minutes of CPR has died in hospital.
The victim, 37, succumbed to his injuries in the Costa del Sol Hospital on Wednesday, two days after he was attacked by his flatmate and stabbed ‘near the heart’.
The shocking incident took place shortly after 8pm on Monday at a property in Vista Golf, part of the municipality’s Resinera-Voladilla district on Calle Juzcar.
The Policia Nacional have arrested the alleged perpetrator, a 52-year-old man who lived with the victim.
A group of police officers reached the property on Monday morning shortly after a call was made to Andalucia’s 112 emergency hotline, reporting that the victim, whose identity has not been revealed, had been stabbed during a fight with his housemate.

Officers handcuffed the alleged attacker while a colleague pressed on the wound near the victim’s heart, before paramedics arrived to perform CPR that continued for an hour-and-a-half as he went into cardiac arrest.
A second ambulance with specialised equipment was called in before he was rushed to Malaga’s Regional Hospital.
Investigators found the weapon – a kitchen knife around 12cm long – in the bathroom sink, with forensic officers sent to examine the property.
The attack is the latest in a spate of stabbings in the Malaga area.
On Monday, a man was arrested after allegedly seriously wounding a young person with a stab wound at the Real de la Feria – the fairground site of Malaga’s annual summer fair.
The suspect has been remanded in custody without bail.
In an unrelated but similar case, a 32-year-old man has been remanded without bail by a Malaga court after allegedly killing his 52-year-old flatmate in the city.
