A BRITISH fugitive described as ‘dangerous’ with a long history of violent offences has been arrested by the Policia Nacional in Catalunya with cooperation from Interpol.
He was detained after he got into a knife-fight in plain daylight in the centre of Lleida, with police identifying him from video footage of the brawl.
The 34-year-old Brit was wanted by authorities in the UK who issued an international arrest warrant via Snaresbrook Crown Court based in the London borough of Redbridge.

He has been transferred to the custody of the National Court in Madrid which handles extraditions.
The Brit is accused of causing serious injury to another patient while he was being held at a high-security prison hospital in London.
He ended up fleeing to Spain where he committed a catalogue of offences.
His name has not been disclosed by authorities in the UK or Spain or any details as to when he escaped from the hospital.
The Policia Nacional said in a statement that the detainee was considered as very violent and had an extensive criminal record in Spain for attempted homicide, robberies with violence and injuries.
They said he accumulated 45 arrests, most them in Catalunya.
His police record includes two attempted homicides, several robberies with violence, robberies with force, and causing injury.
The British fugitive was arrested following a street fight in Lleida on June 21.
He’d already been involved in other open air assaults in the Catalan town.
The showdown happened with a 39-year-old man in the centre of Lleida at around 3pm.
The two men faced each other down using knives and both were hospitalised after sustaining stab wounds in their necks.
The fugitive Brit was subsequently identified from video footage posted on social media and detained.
