Ryanair will however maintain services to Stockholm’s Arlanda airport and to Chopin airport in Warsaw.

The carrier claims that it will offer more than 3.3 million seats to and from Alicante-Elche from the end of October until late March 2027.

There will a be a reinforcement of Italian and German routes thanks to the new connections, but also to Portugal(+58%) and emerging markets such as the Czech Republic (+30%) or Lithuania (+31%) .

Ryanair accounts for over 40% of flights at the Costa Blanca airport and says it has upped flights on 28 existing routes for the winter.

These include destinations such as Lisbon, Rome, Kaunas, Pardubice and Poznan.

Ryanair’s spokesperson in Spain, Alejandra Ruiz , said that the airline ‘continues to lead air traffic on the Costa Blanca, offering residents and visitors even more options to enjoy a winter getaway at low fares.’

Despite the four withdrawn services, she added that the airline ‘continues to strengthen its commitment each new season’.

15 aircraft will be based at Alicante-Elche airport, which the company says is ‘an investment of 1,500 million US dollars and which contributes to the maintenance of more than 7,200 local jobs’.
