Panda-ing to the Queen of Spain

NOT everyone has their first steps seen by a Queen.

But Doña Sofia was on hand to watch seven-month old Po and De De take their first breath of fresh air.

The twin male panda cubs – who were born in Madrid Zoo last September – made their first bid for freedom on the grass outside the protected enclosure where they have lived until now.

And despite any initial nerves on their first outing their royal playmate managed to gain their confidence quickly.
