FIREFIGHTERS have rescued a British man who got lost hiking on Sunday night.

The 25-year-old had been descending from the peak of La Concha in Marbella when he became separated from the group he was travelling with.

Emergency services located him near a river in Las Piedras at around 8:30pm after he called 112.

He was unharmed but was without waterproof clothing and food or water.

The two firemen who came to his assistance were able to locate his exact position from the coordinates that he sent with his mobile phone.

The young man is the second Briton to go missing in Spain in the last week.

Expat Kenneth Dallas McPherson, 62, disappeared ten days ago on the Costa Blanca after going kayaking.
