CLOSE CALL: Garcia loses out to Adam Scott

Garcia lost out by just one shot, as Australian Adam Scott tapped in an expertly-timed 30-inch par putt to claim victory.

The victory at The Champion Course ended Scott’s longest career-victory drought, stretching back to May 2014.

However, Garcia made it as hard as possible for Scott, birdying the final hole.

“He played really, really solid,” Garcia said. “I played with him the last two days, and he looked awesome. “I know I can play better. That’s the good thing. Without feeling like I was swinging that great, I still managed to have a chance, so I’m happy with that.”
