Get off your horse!

HORSEBACK riding has been banned in Alora.

From now on, locals will only be allowed to ride their horses during fiesta time.

Moreover, while owners can walk horses on a short lead they ‘cannot tie them to lamp posts or traffic lights’.

It comes after the town hall approved new bylaws regulating domestic pets and horses.

  1. How stupid! Horses might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but they are very much part of traditional Spanish life.
Why don’t governments just leave people alone and spend their time, and everyone’s taxes, doing something beneficial??

  2. Where in this world can man find nobility without pride, friendship without envy, beauty without vanity? Here, where grace is laced with muscle, and strength by gentleness confined. He serves without servility; he has fought without enmity. There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent; there is nothing so quick, nothing more patient. Our past has been borne on his back. All our history is his industry: We are his heirs, he is our inheritance. Ladies and Gentlemen: The Horse!
