Brits report passport chaos in Spain as huge queue snakes through departure area of major airport

BRITISH travellers have reported passport chaos in Malaga, Spain as huge queue snakes through departures.

Many tourists got a nasty shock when leaving security at Malaga airport this morning.

While passengers normally have time to peruse the shops and grab a bite to eat before passing through border control, today, they had to head straight to the queue.

The line for passport control for UK citizens snaked all the way through the departures area of the airport, past restaurants, cafes and duty free.

It also appeared to be two separate strands, suggesting the queue had gone on so long it had to double back on itself.

An image of the chaos was posted on Facebook with the caption: “Queue for passport control snaking all the way through food court Malaga airport 11.00am today!”

It prompted shock and horror from commenters, saying: “Four years down the line, Brexit can’t still be used as an excuse! It’s just bad management!”

Another said: “Same two weeks ago. Another Brexit gift. However, that does not make it acceptable at all.“

The post racked up 153 reactions, most of them shocked, angry and sad.

  1. The queue for departures at Málaga passport control was as bad as this on Wednesday 3 July. The queue hardly moved for an hour. You had to leave the queue and go up to the front and ask to be allowed through, otherwise miss your flight.
