RUN: Festival in Pamplona

Fiesta+De+San+Fermin+Running+Bulls+Day+6+dGf5IG3YJaklAN UNIDENTIFIED man has been gored to death in Valencia.

He becomes the tenth person to die in Spain this summer after being struck by a bull – equalling the record number of deaths in bull runs, seen in 2009.

The man, in his late 40s, was barged by a bull several times during the run in Borriol on Saturday, August 22.

He was taken to hospital but died from his injuries.

The remainder of the festival has now been cancelled, with the mayor considering its future.

Calls for stricter safety regulations have been coming from all corners after a tragic summer.

Just last weekend, four men died in four different towns after being gored.

“It is an inevitability, an accumulation of coincidences, due mainly to the hordes of people who go to see the bulls,” said Alberto de Jesus, director of bullfighting magazine Bous al Carrer.
