Tourists crowd Palma de Mallorca's Arenal beach on the Spanish Balearic island of MallorcaTWO German tourists have been arrested after stealing beach towels in Mallorca.

Police were called to a fight between tourists and a shop owner, from whom, it soon transpired, they had stolen 10 beach towels.

The small shop owner had chased the tourists when they fled his store with the towels under their arms.

One of the pair then attacked the salesman and a fight broke out.

They later said the theft was part of a bet.

They were arrested for ‘robbery with violence’.
