antonio_banderas_goya_0802_840_585_100ANTONIO Banderas has swapped the red carpets of Hollywood for Malaga port in his latest venture.

The locally-born actor wants to invest in the zone’s regeneration plan by building a theatre, two auditoriums containing 500 and 200 seats, a pit for musicians and a patio with adjusted seating.

Port officials are said to love the Zorro star’s ideas following a successful first round of talks.

The site at the end of the port’s pier number one was once home to the ´Boat House´ and Red Cross headquarters.

It was penned to become an aquarium but investors pulled out in the early stages of planning.
