More than half of Spain’s energy comes from renewable sources

solar-panelsMORE than half of Spain’s energy came from renewable sources for the first five months of 2016.

A report by grid operator Red Electrica de Espana showed environmentally friendly sources accounted for 52.2% of the country’s power generation.

In May alone, 55% came from wind, nuclear, hydro and solar power.

Laurence Dollimore
