What you need to know about changes to Spain’s MOT tests

SPAIN’S MOT tests – or ITV – are changing next year.

From May 20, ITV inspectors will have to hold a ‘Superior Automotive Technician’ qualification to carry out inspections.

If your car fails its test, it can take it to another centre for another.

Current rules state drivers must use the same testing centre.

And if a car has passed a technical inspection in another EU country, it will be valid until the next scheduled inspection.

Every centre must also be equipped with devices that can detect malicious software in a vehicle’s onboard computers.
