THE first picture of Gibraltar mother who was murdered earlier this month has surfaced online.
Carolina Lishman, 32, was stabbed to death in her home on November 8 in the Rock’s first murder since 2015.
A 42-year-old British man, believed to be her husband, although not yet confirmed, has been arrested on suspicion of carrying out the murder.
One local resident described Carolina, who is said to have grown up in North London, as ‘a lovely girl’.
She told the Olive Press: “She’s a beautiful woman, I can’t beleive it, it’s so sad.”
The suspect was arrested at St Bernard’s Hospital where he is believed to have recovered from life threatening injuries.
The mother of two was found dead on November 8 in her flat in Apricot Court in Sir William Jackson Grove.
Police are continuing to appeal for those with any information regarding the incident to come forward.
The suspect is believed to be the husband of Carolina, although it has not yet been confirmed.
Carolina’s neighbour revealed to the Olive Press the moment her youngest daughter raised the alarm.
“She started banging on our door and was shouting ‘they’re attacking each other, they’re attacking each other’,
“We called the police and ambulance service immediately, she was obviously very distressed.”
Carolina, 32, lived on the sixth floor of the flat with her husband and their two children, her five-year-old and another 12-year-old.
It is understood the children’s grandfather is looking after the siblings.
