Spain raises economic growth forecast for 2018

SPAIN has announced that it will raise its economic growth forecast for 2018 to at least above 2.5% from the current prediction of 2.3%.

“The projections that will accompany the next budget will include for sure a revision upwards of the growth rate,” said Economic minister Luis de Guindos during a conference to mark Spain Investor Day., “the scenario is a growth rate clearly above 2.5 pct.”

It comes after Madrid cut its forecast during the Catalunya crisis in October.

If the problem is resolved efficiently, the government says it expects to raise its forecast further.
