WATCH: Fireworks ‘not to blame’ for huge fire on Spain’s Costa del Sol

THIS is the moment a forest fire tore through a holiday hotspot on the Costa del Sol late last night.

The flames broke out in Manilva although the root cause is not yet known.

Residents were evacuated in the early hours of the morning but luckily the flames did not cause extensive property damage and no one was hurt.

Rumours of fireworks starting the blaze have been quashed by local British councillor Dean Tyler Shelton.

“It’s an urban myth,” he told the Olive Press.

“The fire started 6km away from the fireworks with the wind blowing in the opposite direction.

“It’s best we wait for the reports from the correct authorities.”
