TALL TALES: Man allegedly claimed to have been robbed to hide wild night out from wife

The Norwegian, 26, filed a denuncia after claiming three men with a firearm stole €640 from him in Estepona Port.

He said one of the trio – all roughly aged 30 – brandished the weapon from his pants and ordered him to withdraw cash at an ATM.

NOT HAVING IT: A Policia Nacional spokesperson said the Norwegian had actually been ‘partying’ with a friend

But investigators rejected the suspect’s story, which allegedly took place on Saturday between 2:30am and 4:00am.

A police spokesperson said: “Everything had been devised by the complainant after a night of partying, in order to hide from his wife the money that had been spent together with a friend in a local striptease club.”

The Scandinavian reveller now faces charges of ‘simulating a crime’ and Policia Nacional agents have launched a probe.
