Expats donate and distribute furniture to flood victims in Costa Blanca

A KIND-HEARTED British couple has launched an appeal for unwanted furniture to help flood victims in Costa Blanca hit by catastrophic flooding.

Darren and Kelly Chambers – who run Sidney’s Discount Furniture Warehouse, just outside San Miguel – are willing to distribute the furniture to people in need in the wake of the recent devastation.

The couple, from Essex, will even donate some of their own stock to help.

KIND COUPLE: Kelly and Darren Chambers

“All we want to do is help people by giving away our own furniture and collect donated furniture to take to those without,” Darren, 53, told the Olive Press.

“We’ve been going [to San Miguel] for 11 years and are part of the community,” Kelly Chambers (48), added.

“We just want to help people who’ve gone through such an awful time – some homeowners may not even know what they’ve lost as they’re back in the UK”.

FLYING THE FLAG: Kelly & Darren have had their business for 11 years

The Olive Press recently reported that the banks of the Rio Segura had burst, less than 10 miles away, in Benejúzar.

If readers have any furniture they can donate, please message or call Sidney’s on 633 730 505.
