Lcd

MALAGA has been nominated for the Best Emerging Culture City award at the Leading Culture Destination (LCD) Awards.

Andalucia’s second biggest city will face stiff competition from popular tourist destination Marrakech and from Georgian capital Tbilisi.

The awards are described as the ‘Oscars for Museums’ and highlight the most exceptional established and emerging cultural initiatives around the world.

This will be the first time that the ceremony will be held in Berlin instead of London, due to a new partnership between Leading Culture Destinations and visitBerlin.

This year will mark the sixth year in which the awards will be held.

The awards ceremony will take place on March 4 and will feature 18 awards in five different categories.

Nominees represent some 50 cultural destinations in 26 countries around the world.

The nominees are shortlisted by a team of LCD ambassadors, research and recommendations from the world’s leading cultural nomads; with the winners being selected from an esteemed international jury.
