New COVID-19 cases are halved over 24 hours across Spain’s Valencian Community

Another big weekly fall in new COVID-19 cases is reported in Costa Blanca and Valencia areas of Spain

NEW confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Valencian Community have seen a dramatic fall over a 24-hour period.

Wednesday evening’s report(September 16) from the regional health ministry showed a drop from over 900 infections to 548.

Alicante Province registered 282 new cases, followed by Valencia Province on 221 with Castellón Province on just 45.

It´s the first time during the pandemic that Alicante region figures are higher than those in Valencia.

Two additional deaths in Alicante Province were reported bringing the total to 541.

There are currently 152 people that are hospitalised, with 29 of them in intensive care.

Alicante City recorded six outbreaks affecting 21 people, with outbreaks also reported in Denia and Gandia.
