Manchester Fugitive Member Of Torture And Blackmail Gang Is Arrested On Spain S Costa Blanca

A FUGITIVE named as one of Britain’s ‘most wanted’ criminals, has been arrested by the Guardia Civil on the Costa Blanca.

36-year-old Micah Walfall was remanded into custody by a Torrevieja court yesterday(October 4) ahead of extradition proceedings.

Walfall was branded as the ‘heavy’ of a gang assembled from the Midlands that kidnapped and tortured a drug dealer for a large ransom, which included assaulting him with a blowtorch.

Manchester criminals hired the non-local group to avoid the chances of being detected.

Five men were arrested over the incident in the Gorton area of Manchester in April 2019 which saw them pose as police officers to extort £500,000 from the dealer’s family.

The gang were jailed for between seven and 12 years at Manchester Crown Court this year after pleading guilty to kidnap and conspiracy to blackmail.

Walfall, nicknamed by his crew members as ‘Big Dave’, was never detained as he want to ground in Spain.

His car was waved down by the Guardia Civil at the weekend after it was said to be used for drug trafficking in the Torrevieja area.

The car didn’t stop as it tried to ram the patrol vehicle and ended up in a tree after pedestrians darted out of the way.

A passenger was immediately detained by agents, but Walfal fled on foot to his home on an urbanisation.

A database check revealed his identity to the Guardia and that British authorities regarded Walfall as ‘violent and extremely dangerous’.

Guardia agents launched a major operation to detain him at his property but he tried to flee again in another car, but the vehicle was blocked in.

He used a can of pepper spray on the agents as they arrested him.
