THE presenter of Spain’s Euro 2024 coverage received two surprise visitors on Sunday, when major Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman crashed the set to proclaim their support for the Spanish football team.
Marcos Lopez was joined by the stars of the new superhero movie Deadpool & Wolverine, which will hit cinemas worldwide on July 25 and see the pair reprise their most famous roles, but this time together.
They made their appearance on the RTVE state broadcaster’s La 1 channel in the midst of their promotional tour for the upcoming release.
Lopez seemed genuinely surprised as the actors made their way onto his set during a live broadcast, singing football chants and clapping.

“What are you doing here at the Euros, enjoying the show?” the presenter asked.
“Well I don’t know if you know but I have a British passport, and I’ve been called in now that England’s in the semifinal, they want a bit of height… I’m gonna play, a little bit,” quipped Jackman.
When asked who they would be supporting, Reynolds replied: “I am supporting Spain all the way, 110%, all the way Sir, yes indeed.”
Canadian Ryan Reynolds already has something of a history with football, after he and fellow actor Rob McElhenney purchased Wrexham A.F.C., a club based in north east Wales, back in 2020.
Since their takeover, the club has risen in the ranks of the National League, a story that served for the basis of an FX documentary following the pair, called Welcome to Wrexham.
